2024 New Membership

Thank you for expressing an interest in becoming a member of the Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club. We would like to familiarize you with our club's history, and the role it plays in life on Paw Paw Lake.  We proudly celebrated our 125th Anniversary in 2023 and we are continuing today, as a prestigious club on South Western Michigan's largest inland lake.

We were founded in 1898 to promote boating, both sail and power, and socialization between summer and full-time residents, and existed under various names and in several locations.  In the late 1940's, we settled in our present location, under the leadership of Commodore Arthur Engh. We have been guided by successive Commodores, Board of Directors, and Long Range Planning Committees. They have improved our facilities, varied our activities and directions, in order to keep our club worthy of its predecessors, present, and future members.  Over the years, our physical plant has expanded, as has our season, serving members beyond the summer months. We have recycled "old favorite" activities, and added new programs and parties to meet the needs and interests of the current membership. We currently offer such activities as Friday Night Dinners, Saturday Theme Parties, outdoor firepit, sailing regattas, sailing lessons, Family Day, card game nights, bocce ball, pickleball court, outdoor bar & bags, and the Paw Paw Lake Triathlon.

The PPLYC has also assumed an active role in the Coloma and Watervliet communities in activities and organizations as is befitting our over 100 year leadership role in this area.

We hope that you will consider joining our club, participating in our activities, and volunteering your talent and time to the future of the Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club. You will surely enjoy the warm bonds of friendship shared within.
