We wish you a Christmas filled with the warmth of the Holiday spirit and the love of family and friends. Warm wishes for a wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy and Healthy New Year from Patty and Sue.
Christmas Spirit
I hope this greeting finds you all well and in the true Christmas Spirit. The Christmas spirit was going strong at the Christmas Cocktail Party with the Swing Sisters providing entertainment. Many thanks to KC and Allen McKay for planning, decorating and hosting this party attended by about 50+ members and guests. The toy for tot’s party was a big success and we hope it will bring joy, smiles, and giggles to the recipients.
Sad News
Our condolences go out to Nancy Karstrand and her family. Dave passed away in October. He loved to sail and always had a smile on his face when we talked about sailing.
Our prayers also go out to Bev Rittmeyer and her family. Bob died December 15, 2009. Bob was also a sailor and was on the Board of the PPLYC. We appreciate him for his service.
New Years Eve Party
There is still time to make your reservations for the New Years Eve Party at the club. Nancy Teutsch has planned a wonderful evening, so call her today. 269-468-4414.
Bar Project
The bar project has been approved by the board and has begun. Last summer the Health Department made mention that our bar area was in great need of renovation. Before getting any citations from the Health Department, a committee was formed to plan, get quotes, and approval for this spending project. The front bar area is still the original bar that was installed in the 1950’s. Many hours have already been spent by the committee. Committee members are Ken Krengel, Carl Spessard, Kent Walczak, Sue Kaiser and Patty Hutchinson. Ken specified high quality cabinets at a budget friendly price. Kent Walczak will be the general contractor for the project which will begin in January. He will be using local sub-contractors. A trench was dug last week to lay new drain lines to the bar. We wanted to start before the ground was frozen. The project will be complete by the March 20, 2010 St. Patrick’s Day Party, hosted by Michele Rendo.
